Mount Tangkuban Perahu lies 30 kilometers north part of Bandung. The height of the mountain is 2.084 meters above the sea, and it is one of the attractive tourist destinations in West Java. It is a natural place with cold weather, hot springs, and a row of elongated craters as the central part of Tangkuban Perahu. The mountain is called Tangkuban Parahu because of its shape like an upside-down boat.
The name Tangkuban Parahu is closely related to the famous legend of Sundanese history, namely Sangkuriang. The mountain looks like a boat upside-down, it's because Sangkuriang failed to finish the job of making a boat overnight to marry Dayang Sumbi, and she is none other than her mother. Because he was distraught caused unable to complete the construction of the boat, finally kicked by Sangkuriang until it reversed. The legend was made with the name Tangkuban Parahu.

Along the way to Mount Tangkuban Perahu will enjoy the stretch tea gardens and pine trees. It has many craters at the rest of the eruptions. They are Ratu Crater, Upas, Domas, Badak, Baru, Jurian, Demon, and Pangguyungan Badak Crater. Kawah Ratu is a large crater, followed by the Upas crater next door.
